Colonel Chiffoleau is Commander of Evreux Air Base (Base Aerienne 105).
Colonel
Chiffoleau was born in Jarville, France in 1962. He joined the French Air Force
in September 1982 and entered the Air Force Academy, Salon de Provence. He graduated
from the Academy in 1986 with a bachelor of engineering degree. He graduated
from the Defense Joint Staff College in 1997.
From 1986 to 1991, Colonel Chiffoleau was assigned to Orleans Air Base as a C-160 pilot in the Touraine Squadron. He had multiple deployments to El Gorah in the Sinai, Riad during the Gulf war, Bangui, and Noumea.
In September 1991 he was transferred to the Poitou Squadron in Orleans as the Flight Safety Officer to June 1994. He was deployed to Cambodia as Commander of the Transport Group and Ancone, Italy as the French Air Force representative of the Joint Air Operation Cell in the UNHER for the Sarajevo airlift.
From June 1994 to 1996 he was assigned to the Deployment Section of Headquarters, Air Mobility Command in Villacoublay. In 1996 he entered the Defense Joint Staff College and graduated in 1997.
Following the Joint Staff College in 1997 he was assigned to the Anjou Squadron as Deputy Squadron Commander at Evreux Air Base. From 1999 to June 2001 he served as Commander of the Anjou Squadron. He deployed to Bangui as Air Commander of the French Air Force in West Africa and then became Air Deputy of the UN in the Central African Republic.
Colonel Chiffoleau was the Director of the Deployment Section at Headquarters, Air Mobility Command from 2001 to 2003.
From August 2003 to September 2005 he was the Director of Maritime, Air and Surface Transports in the Strategic Planning and Command Center. In September 2005 he assumed Command of Evreux Air Base.
He is a command pilot with more than 4500 hours flying time. His military awards and decorations include Chevalier of the Legion of Honor, Commemorative Medal of Saudi Arabia, Commemorative Medal of Kuwait, UN Medal in Cambodia, MFO medal in Sinai, Gold Medal of the National Defense with an Air Transport clasp, Overseas Medal with vermilion clasps for Cambodia and Chad.
