317th Veterans Group
Oklahoma Reunion

October 16 -19, 2014

This was another great reunion. We have a lot of folks to thank for their help in making it such a memorable event.

The manager and staff of the Best Western Hotel and Conference Center in Lawton, OK. who did so much to meet the needs of all our veterans and make our stay enjoyable.

We appreciate all that the Lawton/ Ft. Sill Chamber of Commerce did to help our group. They provided a grant that helped with our transportation costs. They also provided a city bus and arranged a tour of two local museums at no cost to our group. The Museum of the Great Plains and the Comanche National Museum and Cultural Center.

Altus AFB , public affairs office set up a tour of the base, their aircraft, their maintenance hangar and arranged for us to have lunch with their Airmen at the base club.

The WWII Airborne Demonstration Team invited us out to tour their facilities in Frederick, OK. Their hangar with their two
C-47 aircraft was fantastic. We had the opportunity to fly with them during a paratroop drop. It was an awesome experience. That evening there was a dinner/dance with a 40's Big Band at their hangar. The WWII ADT really made this a day to remember.
Their photographer provided us with a link to download pictures of the Dinner and Hangar Dance with a 40's Big Band.

Many thanks to Doug and Barbara Miller who served as our reunion chairpersons and coordinated not only our reunion events but arranged for pre and post reunion tours of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge near Lawton, The Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum and The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum as well as other interesting places in Oklahoma City.

A great big thank you to all of you who attended this years reunion. Your participation is what makes our reunions a success year after year.
